WELCOME TO WOODRIDGE FARM
General Nediym Gelding wins trial
A General Nediym 3 year old gelding out of the Danehill mare, Emma, won a trial at Cambridge on February 23rd over 1200 metres at his second attempt after finishing third the first time he went to the trials two months earlier. After drawing barrier one he settled on the fence off the pace and looped the field to win in the good time of 1 min 12sec. As was always the intention with him, he is available for purchase. This is a very good apportunity to buy a ready made racehorse who has shown ability on the track. Call the farm on 07 8809230 for full details.
Stratum Filly sells well at Karaka
Woodridge Farm presented Lot 115 at The National Yearling Sales on Monday February 1, a Stratum filly out of Queen of Fashion, which resulted in spirited bidding from several prespective purchasers. She was finally knocked down to Alan Bailey from Queensland for $250,000, the underbidder was Sir Patrick Hogan of Cambridge Stud. The result was very pleasing for Alan and Galene who purchased her originally out of the Gold Coast Weanling Sale in May of last year for A$40,000
The 2008/09 season wrapped up on July 31st with the Woodridge Farm stable celebrating its most successful season ever with eight wins coming from just 4 horses. Leading the way was Point Guard with four and Society Syd with two. The other wins were secured by Lovedale and Ghostfinder. Only one horse failed to salute the judge, and that was the D'Cash mare Brevity who only raced twice. Alan is looking ahead with confidence to the new season after Society Syd won again on August 15.
